Assignment 11

I am Cara Leydig I am studying business and sustainability. I care about the environment and believe that we should all be taking actions to be environmentally friendly and we should all care about it. I see this business playing a role in my daily life because this was a problem I had for many years. 

I am offering a system where you can go to Starbucks, Dunkin etc. and when you came and ordered, you had the option to use one of the reusable cups, or a plastic cup (to go), and after your study session or coffee date, you could return the cup and be guilt free. 

I am offering this system to people who buy coffee or products from coffee places and stay for a while, more specifically students who study at the library or businesses who have meetings at coffee shops. 

The customers care because they care about 1. Their coffee and 2. The environment and don’t mind having a nicer, reusable cup instead of a plastic one. 

What sets me apart from everyone else is that there is currently no opportunity to use a reusable cup at any place unless you bring it yourself which is too inconvenient for a lot of people which is why they don’t do it. 

I genuinely think that this idea is a very good one. I think that it fits a lot of people’s needs however it would fit a lot of people who didn’t even have the need in the first place. Most people will choose an environmentally friendly option if it is convenient enough for them. The only thing that I’m unsure about is the incentive on how to return the cups, and how to “sell” this to customers instead of a business.
